KYB Options for Motorhome Applications

KYB manufactures several automotive and truck shock families, but the motorhome-relevant option is typically Gas-a-Just when a cataloged chassis application is available. Do not select Excel-G, AGX, MonoMax or Strut-Plus only because the product family is familiar; those lines are not interchangeable.

Gas-a-Just Design

A high-pressure monotube design intended to restore firmer control in supported applications.

Limited RV Coverage

Availability depends on the exact Class A, Class B, Class C or conversion-van chassis.

Application First

Match the chassis, model year and axle position before comparing dimensions or appearance.

When KYB May Be the Right Choice

KYB can be a practical replacement when the catalog identifies a direct motorhome or van-chassis application and the goal is controlled, responsive damping. If no verified KYB application appears, compare the available Bilstein, KONI and Monroe options instead of adapting a passenger-vehicle shock.

What New Shocks Can and Cannot Correct

Shocks control spring motion and can reduce repeated bounce or pitch. They do not increase load capacity, correct alignment, tighten worn steering linkage or replace sway and trac bars.

Before You Order

Confirm the Chassis

Use the chassis manufacturer and model year, not only the name on the coach.

Name the Symptom

Decide whether the problem is vertical motion, body roll, steering movement, axle shift or load support.

Inspect the System

Check tires, alignment, mounts, bushings and existing suspension parts before replacing one component.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will KYB Motorhome Shocks fit every motorhome?

No. Motorhome suspension parts are chassis- and often axle-specific. Confirm the chassis manufacturer, chassis model year, GVWR and suspension layout.

Do I need to inspect the RV before ordering?

Yes. Tire pressure, alignment, worn bushings, loose steering parts and damaged mounts can change the diagnosis or prevent a new part from working as intended.

Where should I start if I am not sure what I need?

Use the vehicle selector with your chassis information, then describe the exact motion or load problem. Contact Motorhome Shocks & More if two applications appear similar.

Confirm Fitment Before You Order

Use the chassis information, model year and axle details from your motorhome, or call us when two applications look similar.
