Most of the units (but not all) that we sell have a Limited-Lifetime warranty offered by the manufacturer of the product. Although each company has slightly different criteria, they also share some basic requirements.
The limited warranties described here do not cover normal wear and tear and are non-transferable.
Before submitting a warranty for leaking shocks, please see Weepage vs Leakage.
A shock is designed to last around 50,000 miles, depending on driving style and road conditions. Shocks are a wear-and-tear item and are not designed to last the lifetime of a vehicle. Manufacturer warranties on shocks or struts cover defects such as leaking oil in the product. Reduced effectiveness due to age or use is normal and expected with a shock absorber and is not a factory defect.
- Warranties are based on defects such as leaks and breaks during normal use.
- Wear and tear are not covered. Do not submit a warranty for sets of worn shocks — those are wear-and-tear issues.
- Warranties are processed as an exchange of a defective product for a new one. No refunds. Shipping on the returned item and the replacement are the customer’s responsibility. Replacement orders will include a shipping & handling fee based on weight.
- Order number or original purchase receipt are required; Motorhome Shocks & More is unable to process warranty requests based on purchases made at any other retailer.
- Shocks with broken shafts or mounts, dented or deformed bodies, or chips on the shock shaft will not be covered by manufacturer warranties, as these indicate abuse or accident damage. See manufacturer warranty pages for details.
- Warranties do not cover bushings, mounts, nuts, washers, spacers, or other small parts.
- All warranties are provided by the manufacturer. Motorhome Shocks & More does not imply or guarantee any warranty on the products sold. All warranty decisions are made by the manufacturer according to their requirements.
- All manufacturer warranties are only available on parts purchased from a respective licensed manufacturer dealer. Motorhome Shocks & More is a licensed dealer for the brands we sell.
- Warranties do not cover installation or removal fees, repairs, obsolete products no longer available, or shipping costs, which are the total responsibility of the product user.
The Warranty Process works like this.
- You fill out the warranty form below for the shock you feel is defective.
- We review and approve the request and will send you a Warranty Deposit Draft for the new part. You purchase the part (plus shipping). Refunds are issued based on the conditions below.
- We ship you the new part. All Warranty Replacement orders are charged a shipping/handling fee between $19.99 and $44.95 depending on weight/size and distance (we only charge our cost).
- If the manufacturer accepts photographic evidence (e.g., leak with part number visible), we will refund you the amount of the warranty part you purchased.
- If the manufacturer requires physical inspection, we will email you a return address with a Warranty Authorization Return #. Ship the product to the manufacturer. Upon verification by the manufacturer, we will refund the applicable amount.
