Motorhome Parts Guide
Here at Motorhome Shocks, we carry many different products to help add support for towing and hauling. Chances are, if your vehicle squats in the rear when towing or carrying heavy loads, you have gone beyond what the stock suspension was designed to support. This can also be caused by worn out or weak suspension parts, such as coil springs or leaf springs.
Helper springs and air springs can reduce sag, restore suspension travel and improve stability within the vehicle's limits. They do not increase GVWR, GAWR, wheel ratings, hitch ratings or tire capacity.
| Product Type | Best For | Adjustment | Important Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Air springs | Loads that change from trip to trip | Air pressure can be adjusted | Requires pressure checks; compressors and controls are optional |
| SumoSprings | Maintenance-free progressive support | No manual adjustment | Density and clearance must match the application |
| Timbren SES | Simple progressive support under heavier compression | No manual adjustment | Loaded and unloaded gap affects engagement |
| Steel helper springs | Leaf- or coil-spring applications with a verified fitment | Varies by design | May change unloaded ride height or firmness |
Confirm actual axle weights, tire capacity, spring condition and ride height. A damaged or worn factory spring should be repaired rather than masked by an add-on product.

Identify the movement or load issue before choosing a product category.
Model year, GVWR, axle position and modifications can change the application.
No. Motorhome suspension parts are chassis- and often axle-specific. Confirm the chassis manufacturer, chassis model year, GVWR and suspension layout.
Yes. Tire pressure, alignment, worn bushings, loose steering parts and damaged mounts can change the diagnosis or prevent a new part from working as intended.
Use the vehicle selector with your chassis information, then describe the exact motion or load problem. Contact Motorhome Shocks & More if two applications appear similar.
Use the chassis information, model year and axle details from your motorhome, or call us when two applications look similar.
